Amman, Dec. 12 (Petra)– The Spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced that ambulance teams from the Zarqa Civil Defense dealt today with the deaths of five members of a single family, who suffered fatal respiratory distress caused by a gas leak from a heater in the Al-Hashimiyya area of Zarqa Governorate.
The spokesperson explained that the victims a mother and her children aged between 11 and 14, all of Arab nationality were evacuated by Civil Defense teams to Zarqa Governmental Hospital.
The PSD renewed its warning on the importance of the safe and proper use of heating devices.
It urged the public to regularly check gas hoses connecting cylinders to heaters, replace gas leak preventers with every cylinder change, ventilate homes periodically, and avoid leaving heaters running while sleeping. The Directorate called on everyone to strictly follow these safety measures and not to underestimate their importance.
