Amman, Dec. 17 (Petra) — The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) have resumed operations at the Jordanian Field Hospital in the Tel Al-Hawa area of northern Gaza after completing maintenance and refurbishment works to restore the facility’s full operational capacity.
In its initial phase, the hospital has begun admitting emergency and critical patients, with plans to progressively expand medical services to include specialized clinics, laboratory diagnostics, and radiology services. The move is expected to help alleviate mounting pressure on the heavily strained healthcare system in northern Gaza.
The field hospital had sustained damage in September as a result of ongoing security developments, which at the time restricted access for patients and staff. Medical personnel were subsequently relocated to southern Gaza until conditions permitted a safe return.
Following a comprehensive technical assessment, repair and maintenance work was carried out on hospital buildings and medical equipment to ensure readiness for the delivery of essential healthcare services.
Medical and nursing staff will continue their humanitarian mission despite challenging conditions, in line with Jordan’s longstanding commitment to providing humanitarian and medical assistance and supporting the Palestinian people.
