Karak, Dec. 17 (Petra)- Chairman of the Greater Karak Municipality Committee Mohammad Manaseer on Wednesday evening sponsored the lighting of the Christmas tree, attended by a number of clergymen and a large crowd from the local community representing all segments of society.
Manaseer expressed pride in Karak’s unique social fabric, stressing that lighting the tree embodies the spirit of one family that brings Muslims and Christians together under the Hashemite banner, at the heart of a city known only for loyalty to its people and its history.
Father Boulos Baqain, the parish priest of the Melkite Catholic Church in Simakiyya, said, “In this holy land, we realize that we are all sons and daughters of one message that calls for love and peace, as in all the cities and villages of Jordan.”
