Amman, Dec. 30 (Petra) – The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs urged citizens wishing to perform Umrah by land or air to verify the accreditation of Hajj and Umrah companies and offices through the ministry’s website and the Hajj and Umrah Department.
In a statement issued by the ministry on Tuesday, it stressed the importance of ensuring clarity of the contract terms upon signing, including trip costs and services provided, particularly accommodation and transportation. It noted the ministry’s keenness, through the Hajj and Umrah Directorate, to ensure the safety of Umrah performers and guarantee that they perform the rituals in a safe and facilitated environment, and to deal with Hajj and Umrah companies and offices accredited by the ministry.
The ministry also urged Umrah performers to comply with health instructions issued by official authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to use face masks in cases of crowding during the performance of Umrah rituals in order to preserve public health and safety. It noted that adherence to these guidelines and procedures helps ensure the smooth and tranquil performance of Umrah rituals and enhances everyone’s safety during the spiritual journey.
