Amman, December 31 (Petra) – Civil Defence diving and ambulance teams in western Irbid responded on Wednesday evening to a drowning incident involving two brothers, aged 8 and 9, in an agricultural pond in the Al Zamalia area, Irbid.
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) media office stated that diving teams recovered the bodies of the two children from the pond, while ambulance teams transported them to Abu Ubaida Governmental Hospital.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
The PSD urged Jordanians to closely monitor children and prevent them from approaching agricultural ponds or rainwater bodies, warning of the dangers they pose in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.
