Amman, January 21 (Petra) – The foreign ministers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt welcome the invitation extended to their leaders by US President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council.
The ministers announce their countries’ joint decision to join the Peace Council. Each country will sign the accession documents in accordance with its relevant legal and other procedures, including the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, which had previously announced their joining.
The ministers reaffirm their countries’ support for the peace efforts led by President Trump and confirm their countries’ commitment to supporting the implementation of the Peace Council’s mission as a transitional body as outlined in the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza and as adopted by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which aims to establish a permanent ceasefire, support the reconstruction of Gaza and advance a just and lasting peace based on fulfilling the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of their state in accordance with international law, thus paving the way for achieving security and stability for all countries and peoples of the region.
