Khartoum, Jan. 29, 2026 (SUNA) – Khartoum State Wali Ahmed Othman Hamza met today with the Head of the Italian Emergency Organization, Rossella Micò, who oversees Al-Salam Hospital for Cardiac Surgery in Soba, south of Khartoum, to discuss measures to enable the hospital to operate at full capacity.The Wali commended the hospital for maintaining operations throughout the war period, providing treatment services to citizens from all states and neighbouring countries. He highlighted the hospital’s expansion with the establishment of a new centre in the Mayo area. The Wali also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to completing a rest house for patients’ companions near the hospital and paving the access road.For her part, Rossella Micò affirmed the organization’s commitment to maintaining its presence in Khartoum, noting that Al-Salam Hospital continued to function during the war. She praised the efforts to enhance services in the state and pledged to keep pace with this development by ensuring the hospital operates at full capacity. She also expressed appreciation for the continuous support provided by the Wali of Khartoum State.AS/BH
