Atbara, Jan. 31, 2026 (SUNA) – The First National Conference on Sudanese Youth Issues began on Saturday morning at the Land Port in Atbara under the slogan “Youth Overcome Difficulties with Determination, Building, and Authentic Belonging.”The conference is organized by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of River Nile State, with broad participation from federal and state leaderships.Those attending included the Minister of Youth and Sports, Professor Ahmed Adam; the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Professor Mutasim Mohamed Salih; the Wali of River Nile State, Dr. Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdel-Majid Abuqron, along with members of the state government; the Artillery Corps Commander, Major General Mohamed Al-Amin; members of the State Committee; representatives of several federal ministries; ministers of youth and sports from the states; and representatives of sports federations and related entities.The opening session was also attended by a group of media professionals from Khartoum and River Nile State, as well as a large number of youth participants from across Sudan.The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Conference Preparatory Committee, Dr. Hani Ahmed Al-Taj Al-Sir, said the conference represents an important platform for discussing youth issues and formulating a scientific vision and an implementable strategic plan that responds to youth aspirations and contributes to planning and executing projects supporting the national economy.He affirmed that Sudanese youth constitute the country’s true wealth, noting that the conference offers space for intellectual and knowledge-based creativity aimed at developing youth capacities. He called for the establishment of effective mechanisms to advance youth realities in light of technological developments and to counter external targeting.Dr. Al-Taj Al-Sir further stated that Sudanese youth have formed an impenetrable barrier against regional and international conspiracies targeting Sudan and its people, stressing that just as youth stood at the forefront of the fighting ranks, they will also lead the phase of construction and reconstruction.FA/BH
