Atbara, Jan. 31, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Youth and Sports Professor Ahmed Adam affirmed, on behalf of the Government of Hope, the full support and backing of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and the Council of Ministers for youth issues and projects, in recognition of the sacrifices made by young people in the Battle of Dignity and their anticipated role as the spearhead of Sudan’s building, development, and progress.Addressing the opening session of the First National Conference on Youth Issues at the Land Port in Atbara on Saturday, the Minister stressed the necessity of empowering youth and harnessing their energies and innovations to achieve security and stability in the country. He underscored the importance of discussing youth issues with full transparency in order to reach outcomes that would establish a clear roadmap for the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports and its counterparts in the states.Professor Ahmed Adam noted that a gap has emerged between generations, creating a vacuum that has rendered youth vulnerable to external targeting, making it essential to provide them with knowledge-based guidance and strong family support. He added that, in addition to presenting specialized working papers, the conference showcases youth projects and innovations as a practical step toward studying, adopting, and supporting these initiatives through universities and relevant stakeholders, as well as identifying potential funding sources.FA/BH
