SME Committee Discusses Development of “Estidamah” Platform

Muscat,
1 Feb 2026 (ONA) — The Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Committee of Oman
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) discussed today, during its meeting,
proposals for the development of the “Estidamah” platform for sustainability.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Ahmed Amer Al Muselhi, Chairman of the
Committee, in the presence of its members.

The
development proposals for the platform focused on providing a comprehensive
package of services via the portal and establishing a link between the
Chamber’s official website and the “Estidamah” platform following the
completion of its renewal process.

Efforts
were also directed toward accelerating and simplifying project registration
procedures and setting a specific timeframe to attract the maximum possible
number of projects within the first six months of the platform’s launch.
Furthermore, the committee reviewed the phased implementation plan for the
platform and addressed challenges related to the unification of SME
classifications among relevant authorities, in addition to attracting major
companies to sponsor the platform and provide direct services and value-added
solutions for beneficiaries.

During
the meeting, the “Estidamah” website was reviewed alongside its
objectives and operational mechanisms. Several significant themes were
discussed, most notably coordination with insurance companies to facilitate the
provision of insurance services for entrepreneurs, including vehicle, project,
and health insurance.

The
discussions also included the unification of preferential pricing specifically
for small and medium enterprises in cooperation with insurance providers.
