Aroma, Feb. 1, 2026 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohamed Tahir affirmed the state’s support for all civil initiatives aimed at promoting national unity, security, and stability, stressing that the initiative to unify the people of Eastern Sudan has gained broad public acceptance.Dr. Nuwara made the remarks while addressing a public gathering in Aroma city marking the conclusion of the initiative led by the Supreme Chieftain (Nazir) of the Hadandawa tribes, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Amin Tirik, in the presence of Governor of Darfur Region Minni Arko Minnawi and the Wali of Kassala State.She said unifying ranks in Eastern Sudan contributes to development, prosperity, and the preservation of citizens’ dignity, reaffirming that one of the initiative’s objectives is to support the Armed Forces in the “Battle of Dignity” until Sudan is fully liberated from the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.Dr. Nuwara received a covenant and mandate document from the people of Eastern Sudan addressed to TSC President General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan to lead the country during the transitional period, along with the conference recommendations, including the establishment of a coordination council for eastern entities.Minni Arko Minnawi praised the role of Eastern Sudan’s leaders in reinforcing national unity and confronting external conspiracies, while Kassala Wali Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Al-Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq called for unity, rejection of hate speech, and continued support for the Armed Forces.Nazir Tirik emphasized the need to revive the Eastern Sudan Reconstruction Fund through coordinated official and popular efforts to advance development and compensate affected communities.AS/BH
