Oman Expresses Its Profound Dismay over Military Operations Launched by Israel and US Against IranMuscat, 28 Feb 2026 (ONA) —- The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its profound dismay over the military operations being launched by Israel and the United States of America against the Islamic Republic of Iran, cautioning against the peril of the conflict escalating into unforeseeable consequences throughout the region.In a statement issued today by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman affirmed that this action constitutes a violation of the rules of international law and the principle of settling disputes through peaceful means, rather than through hostility and bloodshed. It called upon all parties to immediately cease military operations, and urged the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency session to impose a ceasefire and for the international community to assume an unequivocal stance in support of international law.The Sultanate of Oman reaffirmed the right of states to self-defense under international law, while simultaneously urging restraint and adherence to diplomatic solutions.—- Ends/Khalid
