Amman, February 28 (Petra) – The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned Iran’s targeting of the sovereignty and territories of member states as an unacceptable escalation that threatens regional stability and carries serious implications for peace and security.
In a statement issued Saturday, the OIC General Secretariat expressed full solidarity with the affected countries Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan in confronting any aggression against their sovereignty, security and stability.
It stated that continued violations of member states’ sovereignty and of international law set a dangerous precedent that undermines the foundations of international relations based on good neighborliness, mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.
The General Secretariat reiterated its call for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions, urging restraint and a return to dialogue to prevent further confrontation that could jeopardise the security and stability of the region.
