Amman, March 5 (Petra) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys on Thursday discussed prospects for overcoming the dangerous escalation in the region and restoring calm.
In a phone call, the two ministers stressed the importance of diplomacy as the path to resolving crises, on foundations that ensure respect of states’ sovereignty, security, and stability, in accordance with international law.
Budrys affirmed Lithuania’s solidarity with Jordan in facing Iranian attacks on its territory.
According to a ministry statement, the two ministers condemned the Iranian assaults targeting Gulf Arab states.
The FMs also discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation across various fields.
