Amman, March 7 (Petra)– Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced on Saturday a precautionary reduction in crude oil production and refining operations following repeated Iranian aggressions against the State of Kuwait, including Iranian threats against the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the corporation said in a statement today that the decision is part of its approved strategy for risk management and business continuity.
The corporation added that this adjustment is purely precautionary and will be reviewed as the situation develops, emphasizing its readiness to restore production levels whenever conditions allow. It clarified that all local market needs remain fully secured in accordance with established plans.
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing worker safety, protecting Kuwait’s wealth, and enhancing stability in global energy markets, noting that any updates will be disclosed as needed.
