Khartoum, March 10, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Energy Engineer Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim affirmed that Sudan’s petroleum supply remains secure, with available stockpiles and contracts with international companies unaffected by the conflict in the Gulf.Speaking at the 51st Briefing Conference organized by the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) in Khartoum, the minister noted that the government is prepared for any worst-case scenarios in the fuel sector. He outlined a series of measures designed to ensure continuous petroleum availability, including storage in tankers and ready contracts with experienced international companies specializing in petroleum products.He revealed a plan to import 130 fuel tankers in 2026 and emphasized that the government, private sector, and security agencies are working together to organize, distribute, and deliver petroleum to citizens and critical sectors across the country at reasonable prices. The minister noted that current national and global conditions require careful oversight of petroleum resources, given their connection to Sudan’s security and stability.Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim also disclosed that he plans to visit Saudi Arabia soon to sign related contracts to support these initiatives.BH/BH
