Al-Eisir: Fuel Supplies Secure, Sudan Needs National Unity to Face Challenges

Khartoum, March 10, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Culture, Information, Tourism, and Antiquities Khalid Al-Eisir provided insights on Energy Minister Engineer Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim’s statements during the 51st briefing Conference organized by the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), addressing the country’s fuel and electricity supply situation.Al-Eisir affirmed that the nation’s petroleum supply is secure. He said the ministry operates according to clear plans and fixed timelines, maintaining a continuous supply chain that ensures fuel availability in the coming months, relying on existing reserves and the ministry’s established plans. He added that these factors confirm the ministry holds a strategic reserve and that future supply will continue under existing contracts. The minister explained that a significant portion of Sudan’s fuel comes via the Red Sea, as well as routes connected to the Mediterranean and Black Seas, and does not rely heavily on the Gulf region. Therefore, current events there have no major direct impact on the country’s petroleum supply.Al-Eisir also dismissed claims of a major fuel crisis as inaccurate, noting that some media campaigns on the subject are unjustified. He reminded that the government has repeatedly clarified these facts through SUNA’s briefing Forum. He praised the role of several national media outlets for their responsibility and awareness of the country’s security sensitivity, stressing that this stage requires high levels of professionalism and patriotism in covering national issues. At the same time, the minister urged media voices promoting negativity or orchestrated campaigns against the state to reconsider their stance and avoid unprofessional and biased practices.Al-Eisir emphasized that Sudan is going through a critical stage in its history, requiring collective effort and prioritizing national interest. He concluded by affirming that the country does not need further conflicts but a cohesive national unity to face challenges, noting that the state’s efforts are not only military but extend across multiple fronts, and that doors remain open to anyone willing to contribute to supporting the nation.BH/BH
