Muscat, March 11 (QNA) – The Royal Navy of Oman Wednesday evacuated 20 people from the Thai cargo ship Mayuree Naree, which was attacked near the Strait of Hormuz.
The Oman News Agency reported that the Maritime Security Center received a report that a Thai-flagged merchant ship had been targeted 13 nautical miles off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman. The attack resulted in a fire in the ship’s main engine room.
The agency added that a Royal Navy of Oman vessel evacuated 20 people, all Thai nationals, with varying degrees of injury among the crew.
The Thai Navy announced earlier Wednesday that a cargo ship had been attacked near the Strait of Hormuz.(QNA)
