Amman, March 25 (Petra) – The West Irbid Civil Defence operations room received a call about three children two aged seven and one aged ten had drowned in an agricultural pond in the Al Karimah area of Irbid Governorate.
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) stated that specialised rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. The children were recovered from the pond but were found to have died.
Ambulance crews transferred the bodies to Abu Ubaida Government Hospital, according to the PSD.
The PSD called for avoiding valleys, streams, water bodies, agricultural ponds and irrigation canals. It urged preventing children from approaching water spaces to avoid drowning incidents.
