Athens, March 26 (QNA) – An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck on Thursday northern Greece, causing significant damage to buildings on Mount Athos.
The quake occurred 11 kilometers northwest of the city of Karya, at a depth of 10.6 kilometers, causing extensive damage to homes scattered across the mountain.
Some residents reported that the earthquake was prolonged and accompanied by a loud rumbling noise in coastal areas. (QNA)
