Port Sudan, March 29, 2026 (SUNA) — Secretary-General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Yousuf, affirmed the government’s commitment to providing the necessary funding for all phases of the expansion projects at Port Sudan International Airport.During an inspection visit to the airport, accompanied by Red Sea State Wali Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Noor and Airport Director-General Musa Gebreil Mohamed Ali, he reviewed operational performance and progress of the expansion works. He directed improvements in performance and the upgrading and expansion of services, particularly in arrival and departure halls, in line with international standards to meet public expectations.The TSC Secretary-General expressed satisfaction with the executing company’s performance, urging the acceleration and timely completion of the project.The Red Sea State Wali stressed adherence to required quality standards in service delivery, particularly in arrival and departure terminals, as the country’s primary interface, ensuring security and passenger comfort.The Airport Director-General pledged to implement all directives and address operational challenges, calling for coordinated state and federal efforts to overcome constraints.The expansion projects include arrival and departure halls, safety facilities, administrative offices, service counters, and a new parking area with a capacity of 350 vehicles.BH/BH
