Khartoum, April 2, 2026 (SUNA) – The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has issued a series of decrees establishing a new leadership structure for the General Staff of the Sudanese Armed Forces, effective April 2, 2026.Under the new appointments:General Yassir Abdelrahman Hassan Al-Atta – Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Abdel Khair Abdullah Nassir Darjam – Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration Lieutenant General Mohamed Ali Ahmed Subeir – Chief of Military Intelligence Lieutenant General Mua’tassim Abbas Al-Tom Ahmed – Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Lieutenant General Haider Ali Al-Teraifi Ali – Deputy Chief of Staff for Training Lieutenant General Khalaf Allah Abdullah Idris Abdelrahman – Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics The following officers were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General:Major General Pilot Mohi-Eddin Abker Mohamed Saleh Major General Ahmed Saleh Ahmed Abboud Major General Accountant Rabie Fadlallah Mustafa Al-Siddiq Major General Accountant Adil Al-Obaid Abdelrahim Abdelrahman Major General Engineer Amir Fadlallah Mohamed Ali Additional promotions and retirements were also issued:Lieutenant General Magdi Ibrahim Osman Khalil – promoted to General and referred to retirement Lieutenant General Khalid Abidin Mohamed Ahmed Al-Shami – promoted to General and referred to retirement Major General Engineer Omar Sir Al-Khatim Hassan Nasr – promoted to Lieutenant General and referred to retirementFurthermore, the following were referred to retirement:Lieutenant General (Legal) Dr. Al-Mahdi Abdelrahman Mohamed Omar Lieutenant General Nasr-Eddin Abdel-Gayum Ahmed Ali BH/BH
