Khartoum, April 2, 2026 (SUNA) – Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Malik Agar, met on Thursday in Khartoum with Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Mr. Xu Haoliang. The meeting focused on ways to advance peace and development in Sudan, with Vice President Agar emphasizing that “development cannot be achieved in isolation from peace, and progress must move hand in hand with it.” Agar noted that discussions also addressed mechanisms to mobilize humanitarian support for Sudan to meet urgent needs, underlining the importance of prioritizing this central issue.
