Khartoum, April 3, 2026 (SUNA) – State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Nour Abdeldaim, met on Friday evening in Khartoum with UN Under-Secretary-General and Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Xu Haoliang. The meeting focused on ways the United Nations can support Sudan’s post-war recovery and reconstruction plan, as well as the policies and programs needed to address current challenges. The minister stressed the importance of UN agencies contributing to the rehabilitation of basic services and the provision of humanitarian assistance during this critical phase. He also called for support in developing public financial systems, expanding clean energy, advancing digital transformation, and mobilizing international financing to drive economic development. He noted that the government has prepared a comprehensive post-war recovery and reconstruction plan with the participation of key stakeholders and UN organizations. He further highlighted the Ministry of Finance’s progress in implementing digital transformation to enhance transparency, governance, and financial system development. For his part, Xu Haoliang affirmed his readiness to intensify efforts and strengthen coordination to provide economic support to Sudan.BH/BH
