Ramallah, April 06 (QNA) – Palestinian prisoner organizations announced on Monday that the number of Palestinian detainees and prisoners in Israeli occupation jails currently stands at around 9,600, the majority being administrative detainees and those held under arrest.
In a joint statement, the organizations said these figures are based on reports from prisoner institutions and data released by Israeli occupation Prison Service, noting that the number does not include detainees held in military-run camps.
Israeli entity and Hamas had exchanged prisoners and bodies following a ceasefire mediated by Qatar, Egypt, Turkiye, and the United States, reached in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, and implemented on October 10. This exchange marked the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s initiative aimed at ending the war in Gaza. (QNA)
