Amman, April 9 (Petra) — The national karate team will begin its campaign on Friday in the third round of the Karate World League, hosted at the Olympic Complex in Leshan, China.
The event features participation from around 340 athletes representing 60 countries, with entry limited to the top 100 competitors in the International Karate Federation rankings, ensuring a high level of competition.
Jordan will be represented on the opening day by Abdullah Hammad in the under-60 kg category, while Abdulrahman Al-Masatfa and Afif Ghaith will compete in the under-67 kg division.
On Saturday, Joud Al-Duroos will compete in the under-68 kg category, Yara Bashar in the over-68 kg division, and Mohammad Al-Jaafari in the under-84 kg category.
The tournament brings together leading international athletes across weight classes, as Jordan looks to build on its recent performances on the global karate stage.
