TSC President Underscores Need to Reject Regionalism, Racism, and Hate Speech

Omdurman, April 10, 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, underscored the need to reject regionalism, racism, and hate speech. Addressing worshippers during Friday prayers at Sheikh Mohamed Khair Mosque and Khalwa (Quranic Schools) in Al-Fitaihab area of Omdurman, where he performed the prayer, Al-Burhan stated that the message of the mosque calls for solidarity, cohesion, and unity. He underscored the state’s commitment to rebuilding and supporting mosques, enabling them to fulfill their role in advancing the tolerant teachings of Islam and reviving the religious sciences.  he TSC President commended those overseeing the Masid (a traditional Sufi learning center where a sheikh’s disciples reside and study) of Sheikh Mohamed Khair, noting its significant contributions to preserving Quranic education, teaching the Islamic sciences, and promoting the values of social solidarity and compassion across Sudanese society. He added that its message has played a pivotal role in strengthening social cohesion, particularly during times of hardship. Al-Burhan further stressed the importance of fostering fraternity and mutual goodwill among all social components and rejecting division and fragmentation to build cohesive communities free from regionalism, tribalism, and racism.
