Cairo, April 16 (QNA) – Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Thursday with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to discuss the latest regional developments, following the announcement by the US president of a 10-day ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.
In a statement, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Abdelatty reaffirmed Cairo’s longstanding support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
He also welcomed the US-announced ceasefire, expressing hope that it would contribute to de-escalation and enhance security and stability in the region.
For his part, the Lebanese prime minister expressed appreciation for Egypt’s efforts leading up to the ceasefire announcement. (QNA)
