Doha, April 16 (QNA) – The Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) has announced that it will hold the Qatar Cup Athletics Championship on April 28 and 29, taking into account the upcoming schedule of international competitions.
In an official statement posted on its social media accounts, the Federation confirmed the dates for the championship, citing the national teams’ preparation plan. It also announced that HH the Amir Cup Athletics Championship will be held on May 7 and 8.
The Qatar Cup will be held for the youth category, while HH the Amir Cup Athletics Championship will be held for the men’s category.
The Federation is currently organizing the Federation Cup at Al Rayyan Club for the youth field events and the men’s track events. Nine clubs are participating: Al Ahli, Al Arabi, Al Sadd, Al Gharafa, Qatar SC, Al Wakrah, Al Shamal, Al Khor, and Al Rayyan.
It is noted that Qatari athletics is expected to participate in the World Youth Championships in the United States next summer, in addition to regional commitments represented by participation in the Arab Championship in Tunisia from the 26th to the 30th of April, while the largest participation will be in the Gulf Games next month in Doha.(QNA)
