Khartoum, April 19, 2026 (SUNA) — Minister of Youth and Sports Professor Ahmed Adam Ahmed announced the launch of a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate sports and youth infrastructure in Khartoum State, revealing that approximately 95% of facilities were destroyed during the war. Speaking at the 52nd briefing forum organized by the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) at the Cultural Center in Omdurman, he outlined efforts to assess damages, form specialized committees, and initiate reconstruction programs. He highlighted broad youth participation in rebuilding schools, hospitals, and sports facilities, reflecting strong national responsibility and support for social stability. The Minister also noted the successful organization of the “Khartoum Festival,” marking the return of sports activities in the capital, with wide participation in athletics and cycling events.He further outlined initiatives stemming from the First Youth Conference in River Nile State, including plans for an industrial youth city, international training opportunities, project financing, and postgraduate study programs.BH/BH
