Berlin, April 20 (QNA) – German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz said that he sees no justification for a potential US intervention in Cuba.
Speaking at a press conference with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Monday, Merz said that despite all the problems Cuba faces, it has not posed any tangible threat to other countries, therefore, he saw no basis on which an intervention could take place there.
The German Chancellor strongly advised that any potential disputes are to be addressed through diplomatic and peaceful means in order to avoid starting a new and unnecessary conflict, which would only create additional problems.
In the same context, the Brazilian President expressed his opposition to any potential US intervention in Cuba.
Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump had stated, “We may stop by Cuba after we’re finished with this,” in reference to the war on Iran, repeatedly threatening to take tougher measures against Cuba. (QNA)
