Al-Gadarif, May 14, 2026 (SUNA) – The Ministry of Health in Al-Gadarif State and Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF, Switzerland) have agreed to expand health interventions in the Eastern Al-Galabat locality and to increase coverage of primary healthcare through three new health centres in Rashid, Al-Jumeiza, and Hillat Khater, with the aim of reducing pressure on services at the Om Rakuba refugee camp. The meeting, chaired by Acting Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam with MSF project coordinator Dr. Lisa and local health officials, reviewed cooperation frameworks and planned interventions. Dr. Lisa said the new technical agreement includes infrastructure rehabilitation, capacity building, logistical support, and improved service quality, noting high demand at Om Rakuba camp hospital and the need to address service gaps. Dr. Adam stressed the importance of strengthening the local health system to improve emergency response and close service gaps in Eastern Al-Galabat.BH/BH
