Geneva, 15-5-2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim began his activities in Geneva on Thursday with an expanded meeting bringing together the Sudanese delegation and members of Sudan’s mission to the United Nations. The meeting reviewed the programme prepared by the mission for Sudan’s participation in the World Health Assembly, as well as the government’s priorities amid the systematic targeting of the health system by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. Discussions also covered the challenges facing implementation of the government’s epidemic-control strategy, in addition to the Prime Minister’s malaria eradication initiative. The meeting further examined preparations for participation in joint ministerial meetings and bilateral talks with ministers and heads of participating delegations.BH/BH
