KHARTOUM, May 21, 2026 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Ibrahim Jabir chaired a meeting of the high-level committee tasked with reviewing legal cases pursued by the Government of Sudan before regional and international courts. The meeting reviewed cases in which Sudan is a party before international judicial bodies, whether as plaintiff or defendant. Discussions also addressed appropriate mechanisms and procedures that would enable Sudan to effectively pursue its legal proceedings before such courts and strengthen its prospects of prevailing in those cases. The committee renewed its confidence in Sudan’s judicial institutions, judiciary, and Sudanese legal professionals, noting that Sudanese lawyers possess extensive expertise and capabilities to handle cases of national importance before regional and international courts. The committee includes representatives from the ministries of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Interior, and Finance, in addition to the judiciary, the Public Prosecution, and other relevant government bodies.BH/BH
