Al-Eiser: Vatican, UK, Türkiye Tour Successful Mission to Promote Sudan Peace Initiative

Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism Khalid Al-Eiser said the Vatican, United Kingdom, and Türkiye tour represented an extended working mission. He described the visit as successful, noting that Sudan requires intensive diplomatic efforts at regional and international levels, stressing that the tour was conducted within this framework. Speaking at a press conference at Khartoum Airport upon the delegation’s return, he said the main agenda of the tour was to present Sudan’s peace initiative. He added that the visit was historic, and that discussions across the three stops were important and constructive, receiving significant sympathy and engagement, particularly from the Pope, academic institutions in the United Kingdom, and civil society organizations. He noted that there are parties promoting colonial agendas and misinformation, stressing that Sudan must communicate its true voice to the world, reflecting the Sudanese cause accurately. He said the delegation was diverse and inclusive as part of efforts by the “Hope Government” to establish a new state, adding that discussions covered multiple sectors. He added: “We understand the public and societal reaction. We came to serve, not to receive gratitude,” warning of online networks working against Sudan to weaken national cohesion.BH/BH
