Omdurman, May 23, 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Saturday conducted an inspection visit to Al-Manara Water Station to assess on the ground the scale of efforts being made to restore water services to citizens. Al-Burhan directed the National Water Corporation to immediately begin the necessary maintenance operations and provide all required resources to resume water pumping at Al-Manara Station and all water facilities across the state in order to end citizens’ suffering. He also carried out a field tour to inspect conditions in Ombada Block 17 (C) and (B), where he listened to citizens’ demands and needs regarding water and electricity services. He affirmed the state’s full commitment to mobilizing all available resources to overcome impediments and provide essential services that would enable citizens to live in dignity, stabilize conditions in the area, and create a suitable environment for the return of residents to their homes. The visit by the TSC President was met with a warm welcome from citizens, who expressed appreciation for his keenness to be present among them and closely follow their concerns, while commending ongoing efforts to rebuild what had been destroyed by the militia.BH/BH
