Khartoum, 25 May 2026 (SUNA) – The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Modawi Musa, met on Monday at his office in Khartoum with the Vice-Chancellor of West Kordofan University, Professor Sid Ali Fadl Al-Mawla. During the meeting, the minister was briefed on the university’s administrative and academic performance over the past period, as well as its future plans, which include the continuation of in-person studies across various faculties, the activation of scientific research, and the adoption of modern technologies and digital transformation. The university vice-chancellor explained that the institution has completed preparations across all temporary centers to resume and continue face-to-face learning, noting that classes will begin in seven faculties starting on 7 June. The meeting also addressed the importance of creating a conducive academic environment that ensures stability for faculty members, students, and staff. It was noted that the university is currently operating through hosting arrangements with Al-Zaeem Al-Azhari University, Al-Imam Al-Mahdi University, and University of Kordofan. Both sides stressed the importance of supporting the stability of the educational process and providing the necessary requirements for higher education institutions, in order to ensure the continuity of in-person learning and enhance academic quality.BH/BH
