Al-DAMAZIN, June 8, 2026 (SUNA) — Governor of the Blue Nile Region and Chairman of the Regional Security Committee, Lieutenant General Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, said the Blue Nile region has historically confronted and defeated conspiracies targeting Sudan. He made the remarks Monday during a meeting with Native Administration leaders and civil society groups held as part of the official visit of Darfur Region Governor Minni Arko Minnawi and his accompanying delegation. The gathering was attended by members of the regional government, security committee, and commanders of the regular forces. Governor Badi praised the unity of the internal front and the cohesion of local communities in support of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and allied forces in the Battle of Dignity. He affirmed the region’s readiness to contribute to operations aimed at securing Darfur once Blue Nile’s borders are fully stabilized, commending the sacrifices of the Joint Forces across all fronts. For his part, Darfur Governor Minni Arko Minnawi stressed the importance of national unity in securing further victories and defeating the rebellion. He warned of plots aimed at fragmenting Sudan and undermining its sovereignty and resources, emphasizing that current priorities focus on preserving national unity and ensuring the success of the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue initiative. Minnawi also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting stability and strengthening border security in the region. Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Mobilization and Popular Resistance Dr. Farah Ibrahim Al-Agar praised Minnawi’s national positions and reiterated the committee’s support for the SAF and allied forces. Grand Nazir (chieftain) of the Blue Nile tribes Al-Mak Al-Fatih Yousuf Hassan Adlan also commended the sacrifices of the armed forces and pledged continued mobilization efforts to support stability across the region and Sudan as a whole. The event concluded with the honoring of Minni Arko Minnawi and his delegation.BH/BH
