Workshop Highlights Latest Global Technologies for Oil Measurement Systems to Support Sector Reconstruction

KHARTOUM, June 10, 2026 (SUNA) — The Ministry of Energy, through the General Directorate of Oil Facilities, organized a specialized workshop in partnership with the Czech company VAE CONTROLS, as part of efforts to reconstruct the oil sector and restore the efficiency of petroleum infrastructure following the war, with the Sudanese Petroleum Corporation undertaking maintenance and rehabilitation of damaged facilities. The workshop aimed to introduce the latest global technologies and equipment in the oil and gas sector, and to enhance the capacity of sector personnel to keep pace with rapid developments in measurement and control systems. The event witnessed broad participation from public and private sector companies operating in the oil and gas industry, where modern technologies in oil measurement systems and metering were reviewed, alongside advanced global solutions for monitoring operations, improving measurement accuracy, and enhancing operational efficiency. It also discussed emerging systems and techniques in the oil and gas industry and explored ways to integrate them into the development of Sudan’s petroleum infrastructure, supporting ongoing rehabilitation and modernization efforts. Participants emphasized the importance of such forums in transferring global expertise, strengthening partnerships with specialized companies, and supporting the Ministry’s plans for sector reconstruction and sustainable development.BH/BH
