Port Sudan, 16 June 2026 (SUNA) — Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday received a package of technical assistance from the Chinese Embassy in Sudan, including computers and smart screens, as part of ongoing technical cooperation and support provided by the People’s Republic of China to Sudan and a number of federal institutions. Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ambassador Onour Ahmed, Director of the Consular Directorate and representative of the Foreign Minister, expressed Sudan’s appreciation for its long-standing historical ties with China and commended Beijing’s continued humanitarian and food assistance delivered through the Humanitarian Aid Commission. Ambassador Onour described Sudan-China relations as a model of a strong strategic partnership spanning political, economic, cultural, and commercial fields, noting that the relationship enjoys the support and attention of the leadership of both countries. He said Sudan and China maintain close coordination and mutual support in international forums, reaffirming Sudan’s commitment to the One-China policy since the establishment of diplomatic relations in the late 1950s. He also praised China’s support for Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The ambassador said Sudan looks forward to China playing a pivotal role in reconstruction and economic development efforts during the coming period, drawing on its extensive expertise and capabilities in infrastructure and development. The ambassador expressed the gratitude of the Government and people of Sudan to the People’s Republic of China, its leadership, people, and embassy in Sudan for the technical assistance, which he said would help strengthen institutional performance across federal ministries and agencies.BH/BH
