Khartoum, June 16, 2026 (SUNA) — Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare Mua’tasim Ahmed Saleh met Tuesday with a delegation from the Abyei Administration led by Dr. Salouma Musa Yahya Bishara, to discuss social protection, health insurance, and human capital development in the region. The delegation presented a comprehensive briefing outlining Abyei’s development and service priorities, particularly in social welfare, health insurance, and capacity-building. The Minister underscored his ministry’s resolve to address the needs of Abyei’s citizens and support programmes and projects aimed at improving services and enhancing livelihoods for the most vulnerable groups, in line with its national mandate. He stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation in the coming period to implement initiatives that respond to local needs and contribute to development and stability, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to supporting efforts to improve living conditions in Abyei.BH/BH
