Khartoum, June 28, 2026 (SUNA) — Minister of Federal Governance and Rural Development, Engineer Mohammed Kortikela Saleh, met on Monday with the Wali of Kassala State, Major General (Ret.) Al-Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq, to discuss developments in the state, with particular emphasis on the education sector and ways to improve it. The Wali said his administration places high priority on education and teachers’ welfare, noting that the state has paid all salary obligations, with only some allowances and outstanding financial adjustments still pending. He said the state is working to resolve these outstanding issues through urgent coordination with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Finance. The minister directed that an immediate meeting be held with the Minister of National Education later the same day to settle the outstanding issues. The meeting also agreed on the importance of convening a joint meeting involving the Minister of Finance, the Minister of National Education, and the Wali of Kassala State to resolve all outstanding teachers’ entitlements and allowances and support the stability of the academic year.BH/BH
