Minister of Health Discusses Support and Development of Health Sector in Kassala

Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim met on Monday in his office in Khartoum with the Wali of Kassala State, Major General (Ret.) Al-Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, and several health leaders. They discussed the health situation in the state, challenges facing medical facilities, and the opening of new health institutions. The Minister affirmed his ministry’s commitment to providing necessary equipment and supplies, noting ongoing joint arrangements with the state health authorities to develop visions and solutions to support the sector. He announced the arrival of some medical equipment and congratulated the Wali on the achievements of the medical city, which includes the Heart Center, Kidney Transplant Center, Emergency and Trauma Hospital, and specialized centers, with arrangements underway for their upcoming inauguration, in addition to the arrival of an MRI machine at Halfa Hospital. The Minister praised the state’s efforts in improving health services. The Wali, for his part, stressed the importance of the meeting to discuss health issues, particularly completing the needs of heart, emergency, and pediatric hospitals, noting the Minister’s directives to provide equipment and address the oxygen station, in preparation for the opening of these institutions soon, expressing his gratitude to the Minister of Health and ministry staff.BH/BH
