Six-Member Committee Between Zakat Chamber and Health Insurance Discusses Strengthening Health Support for the Poor

The joint six-member committee held a meeting on Monday between the Zakat Chamber and the National Health Insurance Fund at Sheikh Al-Qaradawi Hall at the Zakat Chamber headquarters in Khartoum, chaired by the Director-General of Human Resources and Finance at the Zakat Chamber, Faisal Hassan Adam.  Adam said, in statements to (SUNA), that the meeting discussed a number of issues of mutual interest that would enhance cooperation between the two institutions, contributing to providing health support for the poor and needy and expanding the scope of health services provided to them, stressing the importance of continuous coordination to achieve shared humanitarian and social goals.  For his part, Deputy Director-General of the National Health Insurance Fund and committee member Siddiq Wahb Allah affirmed the Fund’s commitment to strengthening partnership with the Zakat Chamber to achieve integration in providing health services to eligible groups and reduce burdens on vulnerable segments of society. He stated that the joint six-member committee meeting discussed shared issues between the two institutions across Sudan’s states and reached an agreement that enhances the implementation of partnership in serving poor families. He explained that the committee assigned responsibility for identifying poor families benefiting from health insurance services to the Zakat Chamber across the various states of Sudan, in addition to agreeing on settling arrears and reviewing the data of subscribers sponsored by the Chamber, contributing to better coordination and ensuring services reach their rightful beneficiaries. He added that the committee concluded its discussions with the file of South Kordofan State, where agreement was reached on addressing arrears to ensure the continuation of health services, praising the support of the Secretary-General of the Zakat Chamber and the Director-General of the National Health Insurance Fund for the committee and their endorsement of its decisions.BH/BH
