Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General (Police) Babiker Samra Mustafa, and Director General of Police Forces, General (Police) Amir Abdelmoniem Fadl arrived in New York leading Sudan’s delegation to the Fifth United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS), taking place at UN Headquarters from July 7 to 8, 2026. The summit serves as a high-level international platform bringing together interior ministers, police chiefs, senior law enforcement officials, and representatives of the United Nations, regional organizations, and international bodies to discuss strengthening the role of policing in promoting international peace and security and addressing emerging security challenges. The Sudanese delegation is scheduled to participate in the summit’s sessions and events, where it will present Sudan’s experience and vision for enhancing international police cooperation, strengthening law enforcement capacities, and supporting UN efforts to maintain international peace and security. Sudan’s participation underscores its commitment to international cooperation in policing and security and its determination to exchange expertise and best practices with member states and international partners in support of regional and global peace and stability.BH/BH
