Fourth Infantry Division Commander: Blue Nile Liberation Efforts Will Continue

Damazin, July 9, 2026 (SUNA) – Major General Ismail Al-Tayeb Hussein, Commander of the Fourth Infantry Division, affirmed the army’s determination to liberate and secure the Blue Nile Region from the rebel forces. He called on citizens and native administration leaders in Al-Kormuk locality to prepare for their return in the coming period and to support the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in the Battle of Dignity. Hussein paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of faith and the homeland. He made the remarks while addressing a celebration in Damazin marking the liberation of Al-Kormuk, organized by the locality in coordination with the Higher Committee for Mobilization and Popular Resistance, with the participation of executive authorities, community leaders, civil organizations, unions, and cultural and heritage groups. Meanwhile, Dr. Farah Ibrahim Al-Agar, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Mobilization and Popular Resistance, praised the regional government’s efforts and the sacrifices of the Armed Forces in supporting stability in general and securing the agricultural season in particular.
