Al-Burhan Pays Tribute to Dignity War Martyrs, Vows to Continue Fight Until Rebellion Is Defeated

OM Marrihi Al-Sheikh Al-Tayeb, July 10, 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, paid tribute to the martyrs of the Dignity Battle, honoring those who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s dignity and honor. Addressing worshippers after Friday prayer at Sheikh Al-Tayeb Mosque and Maseed in Om Marhi, Omdurman, Al-Burhan praised the role of Sudan’s Sufi orders in promoting the tolerant values of Islam and their significant contribution to protecting society from extremist ideologies. He also commended the steadfast support of residents of Northern Rural Omdurman for the Sudanese Armed Forces in the national battle against the rebellion. He noted that the area was the only part of Omdurman that the rebels failed to enter, attributing this to the unity and solidarity of its people. “The people of Northern Rural Omdurman have been a true pillar of support for both the Armed Forces and the people of Khartoum,” Al-Burhan said, adding that the campaign to liberate Khartoum began from the Northern Rural area of Omdurman. Al-Burhan said the Armed Forces continue the campaign with the backing of the Sudanese people and their unwavering determination. “We will never let the Sudanese people down, and we will hand over this country only through a national consensus among all Sudanese,” he stated. He stressed that the leadership would not pursue or accept any course of action that fails to satisfy the Sudanese people or guarantee their security and stability. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces and allied forces to continue the Battle of Dignity until, in his words, “the country is cleansed of every aggressor and criminal.””Our message to the rebels, both inside and outside the country, is that Sudan, through the determination of its people, is capable of prevailing in this sacred national battle,” he said. Al-Burhan also praised the Sammaniyya Order for its longstanding role in spreading Islamic teachings and fostering love and fraternity among Sudanese, describing it as one of the country’s oldest and most respected Sufi orders.BH/BH
