Amman, July 19 (Petra) — Temperatures are projected to edge slightly
upward on Sunday, bringing relatively hot conditions to the highlands
and plains, hot weather to the badia regions, and intense heat to the
Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

According to the Meteorological Department, this weather pattern will
persist through Wednesday, accompanied by moderate northwesterly
winds that are expected to pick up intermittently during the evening
hours.

The department detailed the expected temperature variations across
the Kingdom, noting that daytime highs in eastern Amman will reach 35
degrees Celsius before dropping to a nighttime low of 24 degrees
Celsius. Western Amman will experience slightly lower temperatures,
ranging between 33 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius. In the
northern highlands, temperatures will fluctuate between 31 degrees
Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius, while the Sharah mountains will see a
high of 32 degrees Celsius and a low of 19 degrees Celsius.

The heat will be more pronounced in the eastern badia and plains,
where maximum temperatures are forecast at 38 degrees Celsius and 35
degrees Celsius, respectively, falling to around 22 degrees Celsius
and 24 degrees Celsius overnight.

The most extreme conditions are concentrated in the Rift Valley and
coastal areas; the northern Jordan Valley will peak at 41 degrees
Celsius, the southern Jordan Valley at 43 degrees Celsius, and the
Dead Sea at 42 degrees Celsius. In the Gulf of Aqaba, temperatures
will reach a high of 43 degrees Celsius during the day, tapering to a
minimum of 29 degrees Celsius after nightfall.
