Manila, July 23 (QNA) – HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi met on Thursday with HE Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on the sidelines of the event marking the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, held in Manila, the Philippines.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and ASEAN and ways to support and strengthen them, as well as a range of issues of common interest.
HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar’s welcome of the decision by the ASEAN Foreign Ministers to grant Qatar the status of Sectoral Dialogue Partner during their meeting held in Manila on July 21.
His Excellency affirmed that this historic decision represents a significant milestone in the development of Qatar’s relations with ASEAN, opening broader horizons for cooperation in the political, economic, and developmental fields, and contributing to the enhancement of regional security and stability.
