Madani, 27 July 2026 (SUNA) – Al-Gezira State Wali Al-Khair Al-Tahir Ibrahim announced plans to establish a major industrial city in Om Al-Qura Locality under the name “Green Port”, in addition to three grain silos in the state. The announcement was made while addressing the opening session of the Agricultural Investment Roadmap Workshop, organised by the General Investment Commission and the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Manpower in Madani on Monday. The Wali pledged to provide the necessary infrastructure to attract investment, praising the efforts of the Investment Commission in completing a number of successful investment projects. For his part, Minister of Finance, Economy and Manpower Atef Mohamed Ibrahim Abu Shawq said the workshop aims to identify successful investment opportunities in the state and highlight genuine prospects for attracting investors. He reviewed the ministry’s efforts in rehabilitating slaughterhouses and livestock quarantine facilities, as well as establishing a free zone.Meanwhile, State Investment Commissioner Amir Yahya Haroun reviewed the commission’s efforts in implementing an electronic platform to enhance transparency, avoid errors, and develop the commission’s website.BH/BH
